Adjusting the Optical Mirror
NOTICES! 1)
Adjust the optical mirror only when image geometry cannot be corrected using the 6-axis
adjuster. Adjustment of the optical mirror is meant for fine adjustments only.

DO NOT use tools to tighten
the thumbscrews or the mirror will crack.
Perform this adjustment only if you are unable to achieve correct image geometry using the steps outlined in
Adjusting Image Geometry using the 6-axis Adjuster, on page 2-22 . The small thumbscrews, located around
the perimeter of the mirror, provide an image correction of at most 1 to 2 pixels from any corner or edge.
There is no standard way to adjust the mirror. In general, fix the corners of the image first, then the edges, if
required. Keep in mind, this is a fine adjustment of the image only. Read the tips and review the examples.
When mirror adjustments are required, ensure that all thumbscrews are in a neutral (loose) position by turning
the screws in both directions until there is slight resistance. The neutral position is between these points of
resistance. More than one screw may require adjustment.
Figure 2-26 and Figure 2-27 show the locations of
adjustment screws on the mirror and the corresponding zone on the screen that they affect. It is important to
note the A1 and D1 thumbscrews (shown in
Figure 2-26 ) are reversed to the other thumb screws. The head of
the thumbscrew faces toward the front screen.
