In the event of faults or irregular

engine functioning following a cold

start, a significant loss of engine

power or other anomalies, this may

indicate an ignition system fault. The

vehicle needs to be towed. Seek the

In case unburned fuel is entering the

catalytic converter, this component

can be overheated and irreparably

damaged. Therefore, the following

have to be avoided:
■ Insisting on the starting procedure

when the engine presents

difficulties to begin functioning.

■ Unnecessarily long time during

starting.

The water penetration by exhaust

pipe can damage the catalytic

converter because it works at a high

temperature level.
Avoid the application of any product

in the vehicle underbody. Some

chemical products increase the risk of

fire.
An unpleasant and innocuous odour,

proceeding from exhaust gases,

caused by fuel with high sulphur

content at determinate driveability

conditions should be perceived.

To ensure a low level of pollutant

emissions and the longevity of the

catalytic converter system, all

maintenance services must be

carried out in Chevrolet dealers.
