PERFORMING A TIME-bASED lOAD
AvERAGE TEST
From the Home display, depress the F1 (Mode)
key until the gauge displays “LAVt” for mode. The
“LAVt” label indicates that the gauge is setup to
perform a Load Average test based on a preload
limit and a time period.
Apply load to the measurement sensor. Load
should be applied in one direction only (tension
or compression). The gauge will begin to display
the changes in applied loads. Once the measured
load equals the preload value, the gauge will begin
to average the applied loads. When the applied
load falls below the preload value specified, or
when the time set has expired, the display will
“freeze”. The gauge will display the LAVt result
when in the LAVt mode. The user may also dis-
play the peak load (the maximum load that was ap-
plied during the averaging function) be pressing the
F1 key until you display “T-PK” or “C-PK”. At the
completion of a test you may record the following:
n Minimum Load (equals Preload Value)
n Peak Load (equals T-PK or C-PK)
n Average Load (equals LAVf)
You may Transmit (F1), Save (F2) or perform Sta-
tistics (F3) by depressing the associated function
key.
TEST ANNUCIATORS
The Load Averaging feature employs three types of
annunciators to:
1. Signal the START of your Test,
2. Signal the END of your Test,
3. Signal the FAILURE of a Test
signal the sTART of a Test
A single beep will sound to signal the START of
a test.
The START of a test is determine by the measured
load achieving the Preload Value that you setup
for the test.
signal the END of a Test
A double beep will sound to signal the END of a
test that is based on both a Preload Value and a
Time Period.
When a Time-based test is being conducted, a
double beep will annunciate when the time period
for the test has been achieved.
signal a FAILED Test
A rapid, triple beep will sound to alert you that the
measured load dropped below the Preload Value
before the Time Period was completed.
