Bench Setting a PB Regulator

Connect the pressure building regulator to a nitrogen
pressure source as shown in Figure 21.

Close valve “B” and “D”.

Open the pressure source valve (follow the appropriate
safety rules).

Open valve “C” slowly.

Pressure gauge “A” will indicate the pressure to which
the regulator has been set. The pressure can be increased
by turning the adjusting screw in. The pressure may be
decreased by turning the screw out; however, after each
adjustment outward it will be necessary to open and
then close valve “B” to relieve excess pressure.

Bench Setting an Economizer Regulator
1 Connect the inlet of the economizer regulator to a
pressure source as shown in Figure 22.

Open the valve at the pressure source (follow
appropriate safety rules).

Slowly open valve “B”.

Pressure gauge “A” will indicate the setting to which
the economizer regulator is set This setting may be
increased by turning the adjusting screw in, or lowered
by turning the adjust screw out
5
Gas will flow through the economizer regulator when
the pressure of the gas reaches the preset setting.
