the automatic sump pump connected to the shower drain.
The fresh water tank is filled through the fill plate on the side of the
deck. The tank vent is next to the fill plate. The vent allows air to
enter and escape as water levels change. Fill the tank only with
potable water. Using and refilling the tank frequently keeps drinking
water fresh and clean.
Some models are equipped with an optional dockside water inlet.
This allows city water to be connected to boat while at dock.
Note: Do not leave boat unattended for extended periods with-
out disconnecting dockside water.
Transom Shower
Nothing is more luxurious than being able to rinse yourself off with
fresh water after swimming or water skiing in salt water. Some mod-
els have an optional transom shower which is located at the
transom and has pressurized water. Most showers have a push but-
ton shower head. Pressure water switch is located in the cabin (or
at helm)..
Sanitizing the Fresh Water System
Sanitize the fresh water system before you use it the first time,
when you recommission your boat after winter storage, or when
system has not been used for an extended period of time.
Note: Fresh water tank must be empty before beginning sani-
tizing process. Empty tank if necessary.
To sanitize the tank:
1. Pour 10 ounces of household bleach for every 10 gallons of
capacity into the water tank.
2. Fill the water tank with fresh clean water.
3. Turn on water pump switch to pump water throughout the system.
4. When a steady stream of water is coming from the faucets, all
air is out of the system. Turn switch OFF after closing faucets.
5. Allow treated water solution to remain in tank for 3 to 4 hours.
6. Turn on water pump switch and pump all treated water solution
from tank and lines through all faucets.
7. Refill tank with fresh water and turn on pump to thoroughly flush
entire system with fresh water after each sanitizing.
Note: If fresh water tastes like chlorine after sanitizing, pour a
solution of 1 quart of vinegar and 5 gallons of fresh water into
the tank and allow solution to stand in tank for several days.
Then drain entire system and flush with fresh water. Fill tank
with fresh water.
INITIAL STARTUP
After you have sanitized the fresh water system, follow these proce-
dures to start the system:
1. Partially fill the fresh water tank.
2. Move WATER PUMP switch at main panel in cabin (or at helm)
to ON.
3. Open cold water galley faucet to allow air to escape. Close
faucet when you see a steady flow of water.
4. Your boat is equipped with a hot water heater, so open hot water
galley faucet to fill water heater and allow air to escape from
line. Close faucet when you see a steady flow of water.
5. Bleed air from remaining faucets by opening each one until you
see a steady flow of water and then closing faucet.
6. Fill fresh water tank to capacity.
