ways and they can cause a fire, an explosion or even injuries.
f) Never place a battery close to a fire or leave it in excessively high temperatures. A fire or temperatu-
re s above 130°C can cause an explosion.
g) Follow all of the recharging instructions and never recharge the battery or a battery-üowered tool
outside the temperature range stipulated in the user manual. Incorrect recharging or recharging
outside the permitted temperature range might destroy the battery and increase the risk of fire.
Service
a) Have your power tool repaired by specialists and only use original-spare parts. This is to ensure the
safety of the power tool.
b) Never try to service damaged batteries. Battery maintenance should be performed by the manufac-
turer or authorized service centres only.
Battery charger safety instructions
• The supplied charger is only to be used for recharging CFH ESA 690 batteries.
• Only the supplied charger is to be used to recharge the battery. The risk of fire or explosion exists.
• Always inspect the charger and its cable and plug before you use it and, if necessary, have it repaired
by a specialist using only original spare parts. Never use a defective charger and never try to open it.
This is to ensure the safety of the machine.
• Make sure that the mains voltage matches the information on the rating plate of the charger. There is
a risk of electric shock.
• Disconnect the charger from the mains before making or setting up a connection to the power tool.
• Keep the charger clean and away from moisture and out of the rain. Never use the charger outdoors.
Dirt and water penetration will increase the risk of an electric shock.
• The charger is only to be used with the corresponding original batteries. Recharging other batteries
might result in injuries or fire.
• Do not allow the charger to be mechanically damaged. It could cause internal short circuits.
• The charger must not be used on a combustible surface (e.g. paper, textiles). There is a risk of fire due
to the heat generated during recharging.
• If the device’s connection cable is damaged, then it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its ser-
vice agent, or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent dangerous situations.
• Always unplug the charger from the power socket before cleaning to reduce the risk of an electric
shock.
