This device can be used by children aged 8 years or older as well as by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that
they are being supervised or have been trained in the safe use of the device and understand the
hazards that might occur. Children must never be allowed to play with the device. Cleaning and
maintenance is not to be undertaken by children without adult supervision.
Safety in the working area
a)
Keep the working area clean and well-lit.
An untidy or unlit work area can lead to accidents.
b)
Never use the power tool in a potentially explosive atmosphere where there are flammable
liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools generate sparks that can ignite the dust or vapours.
c)
Keep children and other people well away when you are using the power tool.
Any distraction
may cause you to lose control of the device.
Electrical safety
a)
The power tool’s plug must fit in the socket. The plug must not be modified in any way. Do not
use adapter plugs together with electrically grounded power tools.
Using unmodified plugs
and appropriate sockets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
b)
Avoid making bodily contact with earthed surfaces such as cookers, pipes, radiators and re-
frigerators.
There is an increased risk of electrical shock when your body is earthed.
c)
Keep the device out of the rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the
risk of electric shock.
d)
Do not use the connecting cable to carry the power tool, to hang it up or to unplug it from the
wall socket. Keep the connecting cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cables increase the risk of electric shock.
e)
Only use extension cables that are suitable for outdoor use if you have to use the power tool
outdoors.
Using an extension cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f)
Always use a residual current circuit breaker if having to use the power tool in a damp envi-
ronment is unavoidable.
Using an RCD circuit breaker reduces the risk of an electric shock.
Personal safety
a)
Take care and pay attention to what you are doing and use common sense when working
with a power tool. Do not use a power tool when you are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
A moment of carelessness when using the power tool can cause serious
injury.
b)
Always wear personal protective equipment as well as safety goggles.
Wearing personal pro-
tective equipment such as a dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, hard hat or ear protectors, depending
on the type and use of the power tool, reduces the risk of injury.
c)
Prevent unintentional start-ups. Make sure that the power tool is off before connecting it to
the power supply and/or the battery pack, picking it up or carrying it.
If you have your finger on
the switch when using the power tool or if you plug the tool into the mains while it is on, this may
cause an accident.
d)
Remove the adjustment tool or spanner before you switch the power tool on.
A tool or key
inserted in a rotating part of the power tool can cause injuries.
e)
Avoid abnormal body postures. Ensure that you are standing firm and keep your balance at
all times.
This means you can control the power tool better in unexpected situations.
f)
Always wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clot-
