9. Maintenance and inspection
9.1 Safety measures
i
Important!
The operator must be provided with any protective
clothing that may be required.
Before maintenance and inspection work, turn off the
power supply to the pump.
Who can carry out maintenance and inspection work?
Normal maintenance work may be carried out
by operational personnel.
Warning!
Risk of injury to upper extremities (fingers) from reach-
ing into suction and pressure openings when pump is
running. Do not place fingers or objects in the suction or
pressure openings unless a suction and pressure line
is attached. Switch off the power supply to the pump
(unplug) before maintenance and inspection work, and
check before reconnecting the power.
8. Operation
Warning!
Risk of injury from delivering liquids dangerous to health
(burning, poisoning etc.). Take note of the safety data
sheet for the delivery medium. Wear suitable protective
clothing (eye protection, hand protection, breathing pro-
tection etc.) if there is any risk of contact or evaporation.
Do not eat and drink during operation. No smoking or
open flames.
Warning!
Possible environmental and material damage from leak-
ing delivery medium. If liquid appears on the spigot,
repair this immediately with a suitable binding agent and
according to instructions.
1. When using a flexible hose, secure the ends to the
tanks to be emptied and filled. If no suitable connec-
tions are available, make sure you are holding the
delivery hose tightly before you begin filling.
2. The pressure side valve (delivering nozzle or
system valve) must be closed to begin with.
3. Set switch to “I”
➔
pump ON
(motor should now be running).
Important!
Extended use with a closed delivery line (bypass mode),
may cause overheating and damage the pump. Operate
the pump using the integrated bypass valve for short
periods of time only (2-3 minutes at the most).
4. Open the valve in the delivery line so that the end of
the hose or the delivery nozzle can be well secured.
5. Close the pressure side valve if the tapping
procedure is interrupted or stopped.
6. Switch off the pump (switch to “O”)
when the tapping procedure is complete.
i
Important!
If an automatic delivery nozzle is installed in the delivery
line, it can be difficult to push the air out of the system
(automatic shut off holds the valve closed up to approx.
0.3 bar). If this is the case, temporarily uninstall the
automatic delivery nozzle for the first suction procedure.
If the suction procedure lasts longer than one minute,
there is a fault (see section 10 for possible causes).
Switch the pump OFF (set switch to “O”).
i
Important!
Never switch off the pump by unplugging
the terminal clamps.
Warning!
Risk of burning from hot surfaces, and possible
pump damage from overheating. Running cycles of
> 30 minutes can cause the motor temperature to rise.
After each running cycle of maximum 30 minutes
always allow the same length of time for the switched
off motor to cool down.
