4.2) Storage
(Ref. to Fig. 1)
When not in use, the tool should be stored and transported in the plastic case, to prevent
damage. Plastic case: VAL P9, size 543x412x130 mm (21.38x16.22x5.12 in.), weight
2,2 kg (4.8 lbs).
4.3) Head rotation
For ease of operation, the tool head can rotate through 180°, allowing the operator to work
in the most comfortable position.
Warning: do not attempt to turn the head if the hydraulic circuit is pressurised.
5. BLADE REPLACEMENT
(Ref. to Fig. 3 and 4)
After extended use, the blades may loose their cutting edge.
Replace the blades as follows:
5.1) Lower blade
– Release latch (66), and open the tool head.
– Operate the tool to advance the lower blade until grub screw (82) is visible on the ram
(35).
– Using a fl at blade screwdriver remove the grub screw (82) and release the lower blade
(51).
– Insert the new blade and fi t the grub screw (82).
Warning: before closing the tool head, release the oil pressure and retract the lower
blade, otherwise the tool head assembly may hit and damage, the lower blade.
5.2) Upper blade
– Release latch (66), and open the tool head.
– Remove the circlip (47) and extract the head pivot (40).
– Remove circlip (47a) and latch pin (40a) to release the latch (66).
Remove latch spring (50) from the spacer (39).
– Using a 10 mm spanner, remove 8 nuts (42), 8 washers (41) and 4 studs (48), releasing
the blade (46).
– Position the new blade in the head assembly, insert 4 studs (48), fi t 8 washers (41) and 8
nuts (42). Insert the latch spring (50) into the spacer (39). Reassemble the latch (66)
and tighten the 8 nuts.
– Fit the head assembly to the head support using the pin (40) and circlip (47).

Centre; if possible, attach a copy of the Test Certifi cate supplied by
Cembre
together
with the tool or, if no other references are available, indicate the approximate purchase
date and the tool serial number.
