Installation guidelines
The Dutch Payments Association (
Betaalvereniging Nederland
) is an organisation that aims to maintain
and improve the security of electronic payment transactions in the Netherlands. In order to enhance the
security of such transactions, the Association has drawn up the following guidelines concerning the use
of the card reader:
•
Make sure that the payment card is never out of the card holder’s sight.
•
You should always let the card holder insert the card in the chip card reader or swipe it through
the magnetic card reader.
•
If it is not practicable for the card holder to insert or swipe the payment card, you should make
sure the card holder is watching while you insert the card in the chip card reader or swipe it
through the magnetic card reader.
