Malfunctions
In case of any malfunctioning please follow the instructions below.
The unit is not working.
•
Make sure the unit is plugged in correctly. Check the electrical outlet by plugging in another
appliance.
•
Check to see that the On/Off switch (VC44 only) has been correctly pressed. The green control
light must be on (VC44 only).
•
If the unit has overheated, sealing is automatically interrupted. Let it cool for 30 minutes and try
again.
•
Check to see if the cord or the plug are damaged. If they are, do not attempt to start.
The unit does not carry out the first sealing on the cut part of the roll.
•
Check whether the roll part has been correctly positioned as described in the paragraph
“
Packaging in Pre-Cut Rolls and Bags
”.
•
Please press the lid in the middle of the device in addition to the pushbuttons you are to press.
The unit does not create a complete vacuum inside the bags.
•
The open end of the bag should remain entirely inside the recess of the vacuum chamber (10.).
•
Check for impurities on the sealing gasket (7.) and the gaskets (8. and 14.). Clean them and
replace in the correct positions.
•
Invert the useful side of the lower gasket by turning it over.
•
There may be a hole in the bag. To find out, seal the bag with some air inside, immerse the bag
in water and press on it. Bubbles indicate a leakage. Seal again or use another bag.
Bags are not sealing correctly.
•
The cause may be the sealing bar overheating or melting the bag. Open the lid and let the sealing
bar cool down for several minutes.
The bag does not hold the vacuum after being sealed.
•
This may be caused by a leakage due to wrinkles, crumbs, fats or liquids. Open the bag, clean
the upper part and take any foreign elements off the sealing bar before trying to seal again.
•
Make sure the bag is free of holes. If sealing food with sharp edges, first line the bag with napkins
or paper towels.
