Tools Required:
Hex wrenches
Phillips screwdriver
Torque wrench
!
WARNING! Catching of clothing.
Secure long hair and loose clothing before using the treadmill or working near the treadmill
walking surface or pulleys.
Belt Tension
Adjust the belt tension whenever the belt slips or moves unsteadily during operation:
1.
Use the controls on the monitoring system to start the treadmill at minimum speed
and grade, then increase the speed to 2.5 mph.
2.
Hold onto the handrail for balance and walk heavily on the treadmill by marching
flat-footed.
a.
If the belt hesitates or lags noticeably, tighten the belt as in steps 3 and 4.
Note:
Do not use all your weight to resist the belt movement. Too much
resistance applied too long (more than two seconds) will shut down the system. If
this should occur, recycle power to resume normal operation.
b.
Increase the speed to 4.5 mph (7.1 km/h) and jog on the treadmill. If the belt
hesitates or lags noticeably, tighten the belt as in steps 3 and 4.
c.
Increase the speed to 6.5 mph (10.3 km/h) and run on the treadmill. If the belt
hesitates or lags noticeably, tighten the belt as in steps 3 and 4.
3.
Locate the two adjustment bolts at the rear of the treadmill (see
Figure 4-1
).
