• S ecure Digital ( S D) memory card s have
a phy s ical s witch to prevent writing on
the card s o a s to avoid the accidental
era s ure of the card’ s content. To write-
protect the memory card s et the s witch
to the LOC K po s ition.
Built-in Rechargeable Lithium Battery
The camcorder ha s a built-in rechargeable lithium battery to k eep the
date/time and other s etting s . The built-in lithium battery i s recharged
while you u s e the camcorder; however, it will di s charge completely if
you do not u s e the camcorder for about 3 month s .
To recharge the built-in lithium battery: Connect the compact power
adapter to the camcorder and leave it connected with the camcorder
off. The built-in lithium battery will be fully charged after about 24 hour
s .
Di s po s al
When you delete movie s or initiali z e the memory, only the file allocation
table i s altered and s tored data i s not phy s ically era s ed. When you di s -
po s e of the camcorder or memory card or give either to another per-
s on, initiali z e the camcorder’ s built-in memory (
H
only) or
memory card u s ing the [Complete Initiali z ation] option (
A
40). Fill it up
with unimportant recording s , and then initiali z e it again u s ing the s ame
option. Thi s ma k e s recovering the original recording s very difficult.
