Training
A. Overview
The imageRUNNER 6570 Series Technical Training Program, which
includes training for the imageRUNNER 5570/6570 devices, is a
blended learning course. The program consists of two integral
components: an online course and a classroom course. The goal behind
a blended approach is to leverage the advantages of the eLearning
Center to complement the classroom training approach and deliver
training in the most efficient and effective way possible.
1. Online Course: This portion of the imageRUNNER 6570 Series
Technical Training Program consists of an eLearning course
containing eleven topics. The objective is to provide interactive
training on theory, specifications, component identification and
operations and timing prior to attending the classroom training. The
course is located in the eLearning center on the e-Support website:

2. Classroom Course: Consists of five (5) days of lecture, hands-on labs,
and practical application based on the information learned on-line.
Each student will have the opportunity to disassemble and install key
components and apply troubleshooting techniques. This “hands-on”
approach will improve each technician’s ability to support the products
and meet customers’ needs right from the start.
Benefits of this approach will include increased hands-on time in the
classroom with a focus on the main unit and accessories with real-world
troubleshooting scenarios. Special focus will be given to the latest version
of the Canon Controller, new Induction Heating System and the Express
Copy Mode.
B. Certification
Technician certification for the imageRUNNER 6570 Series is required for
authorization to sell this product. The certification will include the following
models and will be awarded when both the online and the classroom
portions of the program are successfully completed:

C.
Who Should Attend
Service Technicians who are required to support the imageRUNNER
5570/6570.
Note:
Effective July 1, 2005 the Systems & Technical Support Division is limiting
imageRUNNER 5570/6570 live phone based technical support to those
technicians who have successfully completed or who are enrolled in the
training program. Self-Service Support (software downloads,
knowledgebase, support forums, technical publications) will continue to be
available through our e-Support website for all Technicians (refer to the
Technical Support section for entitlement details).
