The following eight printed circuit boards are located in this machine:
• SCNT board that controls the entire system
• NCU board that interfaces with the telephone line
• MODULAR board that connects the telephone line and the NCU board
• PCNT board that generates high voltage for the printer
• OPCNT board that controls the operation panel's buttons and LCD.
• A power supply unit is also located in this machine.
• MCNT board that controls the main motor.
• INTERFACE board that interfaces with the PC.
The nine sensors shown below detect the status of the machine.

PCNT board
Document edge sensor:
It detects the document
leading/trailing edges.
Document sensor:
Detects whether or not
a document is set.
Paper edge sensor:
It detects the recording paper
leading/trailing edges.
Toner sensor:
It detects whether there is
toner in the toner cartridge.
Front cover/cartridge sensor:
It detects whether the front
cover is open or closed,
and whether the toner
cartridge is in place.
Paper eject sensor:
It detects recording paper
eject conditions.

Paper cassette sensor:
It detects whether the
paper cassette is open
or closed.
Paper sensor:
It detects whether
recording paper is in place.
Paper sensor:
It detects whether
recording paper is in place.
Paper overflow sensor:
It detects whether
paper stack
overflow conditions.
