Procedure

1.

Push on the top of the ink filter enclosure door and it will flip forward to open and provide access
to the filters.

Locate the bleed tube valve on the top of the ink filter you are going to bleed (the cap that holds it
in place indicates the colour of the ink line into that filter). Attach the syringe to the bleed port and
open the stopcock.
If you want to reuse the syringe, start with the lighter ink colours first. Darker inks will stain the
clear plastic wall of the syringe and make it difficult to see the ink as it comes in.

3.

Pull the plunger out until ink is seen in the syringe.
If there is excessive air, more than one syringe full of air may be extracted. In this case, close the
stopcock before disconnecting the syringe and expelling the air. Open it again to continue.

NOTE

Pull back on the syringe plunger in increments and wait for the pressure to equalize
before pulling more to prevent over-pulling on the syringe. Note that the White ink
channel may need slightly more pulling to overcome the pressure.

4.

After the air has been fully withdrawn from the filter there will be a noticeable increase in the
force required to pull on the syringe, and ink will begin to flow into the syringe.
