In the application you’re using, select the MIDI device that you want to use. (For details on
how to make these settings, refer to the owner’s manual for the application you’re using.)
Windows Vista users
* You can’t use the UM-2G with the Media Player that’s included with Windows Vista.
Windows XP users
Depending on your computing environment, “(2)” or some other number may be added at
the top or the end of the port name.
* Settings for using the UM-2G with the Media Player that’s included with Windows XP are the
same as for Advanced mode. Refer to “Settings for Using the UM-2G with Windows Media
Player” (p. 17), and select “USB audio device.”
Macintosh (Mac OS X) users
You must make MIDI input/output settings for Mac OS X before you use the UM-2G with your
application. The method is the same as for Advanced mode. Make settings as described in
“MIDI Device Settings” (p. 19).
