3.6 Front
Panel
The frontal part of the SY1527 mainframe is shown in Fig. 3.5, p.30. It can be essentially
divided into two main sections:
the higher 4U-high section which consists of the actual Front Panel;
the lower 4U-high section corresponding to the Power Supply Section.
For a detailed description of the Power Supply Section, please refer to Section 3.4, p.22.
The Front Panel features the following components:
the 7.7” colour LCD monitor with a 15-key keypad and a compact switch;
the Interface Bus section with three slots containing a RS232 interface, a VGA
port, one PS/2 connector and additional peripherals;
the I/O Control section which hosts I/O connectors and several displays and
switches.
