5. General Maintenance

REPLACING A BLOCKED JET

•   Should the hole in the jet become blocked, this may result in a small flame or no flame at all. Do not attempt to clean the jet with a

pin or other such device as this may damage the orifice, which could make the appliance unsafe.

•   Ensure the cylinder valve is closed.

•   If the appliance was in use, it will be hot.  Allow to cool before attempting any maintenance.

•   Unscrew the appliance from the gas cylinder.

•   Remove the Mesh and Filter using a very thin flat screwdriver. The Jet is now visible to remove. Unscrew the jet from the adaptor using

a suitable size flat screw driver. Do not use pliers to remove the jet as this may damage the jet, making it unusable or impossible to

remove.

•   Screw a new CADAC No. 21 jet into the CADAC Cooker and ensure a gas tight seal. Do not over tighten the jet.

REPLACEMENT OF SEALS

•   Remove the rubber seal (G) without damaging the seat, replace it with a new seal making sure it is well seated.

•   Connect to a gas cylinder following the directions in section 3 and the safety information in section 2.

6. Troubleshooting

•   A normal flame is blue and may have an orange or yellow tip. If the flame is completely yellow, it may be that the jet is not securely

fitted. Re-tighten to give a gas tight seal. An overfilled gas cylinder can also cause large yellow flames. Cylinder should be returned to

filling station and checked by weight.

•   Check that the air holes (G) in the adaptor are clear and free of obstructions (Fig.2).

•   If the flame power drops or the gas will not light, check that the gas cylinder still contains gas (shake to hear the noise made by the

liquid). If there is still gas, the jet might have become blocked or partially blocked.

7. Cleaning and Storage

•   To clean the appliance, simply wipe with a damp cloth using a little dishwashing liquid, if necessary.

•

DO NOT

immerse in water as this will allow water to get into the burner and primary air holes, causing the appliance to malfunction.

•   Do not use abrasive cleaners as this will cause permanent damage to the surface.

•   After cleaning, unscrew the appliance from the gas cylinder and store both in a cool dry place away from heat.

8. Spares and Accessories

•   Always use genuine CADAC spares and accessories as they have been designed to give optimum performance.

9. Returning the Appliance for Repair or Service

•   Do not modify the appliance. This may cause the appliance to become unsafe.

•   If you cannot rectify any fault by following these instructions, please return the appliance to your local CADAC distributor for

inspection / repair.
