Step 23. Configure the other side of the connection.
The user must now create the other end of the PVC before continuing to the next step. Repeat
step 17
through
step 22
. The only value that will change is the interface number. In this example the second
interface is 30302 (port 2 of ANIM 3 of the module installed in slot 3).
Step 24. Get the Cross-Connect Identifier (CCID).
This section describes how to get the CCID for the PVC.
Figure 27
displays how to get this value by
using the Mr. MIT SNMP MIB Query program. The Mr. MIT program is used because Enterasys
Systems SPECTRUM MIB Browser cannot be used to get the CCID.
Figure 27 Getting the CCID
Figure 27
contains three callouts, which are defined as follows:
A
Points how the user must enter the IP address of the SmartSwitch 9500, and 0 for the port number.
B
Displays the OID string (1.3.6.1.2.1.37.1.10) the user must enter to get the CCID.
C
Displays the CCID value the SNMP application has returned for this PVC (4099).
NOTE
The user may also perform the following command from a UNIX workstation to get the
CCID:
snmpget -h <IP Address> 1.3.6.1.2.1.37.1.10
After this command is entered, press the RETURN key; the CCID value is displayed.
