Surge protection
Over voltages (e. g. in the event of a flash of lightning) can be further conducted into the
building and to other connected devices in the same network via the network cables or other
data cables if there is no surge protection. Touching live parts and cables results in death or
lethal injuries due to electric shock.
Ensure that the system is integrated into the existing surge protection.

Safety information of the inverter manufacturer
Please read and observe all safety information of the inverter manufacturer.
2.2.7
Response to Emergency Situation.
In case any of the following accidents occurs, follow the methods given below for handling. The
battery system is designed to prevent the hazard resulting from failure. However, BYD cannot
guarantee absolute safety.
(1) Leaking
:
Observe the following precautions when the module has electrolyte leakage.
a) Stop using the battery immediately.
b) Isolate the battery and make sure that it cannot be used any longer. Contact BYD and wait
for further handling.
c)
The electrolyte is slightly corrosive to the human body. Please avoid contact with it as
much as possible.
d) Clear the electrolyte with gauze or similar material.
e) If it accidentally comes into contact with the human body, rinsing it immediately with water.
If it splashes into the eye, wash it immediately with 2%~4% boric acid and seek medical
attention in hospital.
f)
If you identify a spicy smell but are not sure if there is any electrolyte leakage, take the
measures for handling electrolyte leakage mentioned above.
g) Inhalation: Evacuate the contaminated area, and seek for medical help immediately.
h) Skin contact: Wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water, and seek for medical
help immediately.
i) Ingestion: Induce vomiting, and seek for medical help immediately.

If a fire breaks out around the or on the battery. follow the procedure below for fire
suppression
The battery modules may catch fire when it is put into fire. In case of a fire, please make sure
that an ABC or carbon dioxide extinguisher is nearby. Water cannot be used to extinguish the
fire.
Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus are required for the firefighters
to extinguish the fire.
