Previous
examples
clearly
demonstrate
that
universal
joint
angle
is
directly
related
with
life
of
the
PTO.
In
order
to
reduce
angle,
it
is
necessary
to
increase
the
distance
between
snowblower
and
tractor.
Too Large Angles at PTO Joints
Reasonable Angles at PTO Joints
To Avoid
Acceptable
If
it
is
impossible
to
increase
the
distance
between
snowblower
and
tractor,
in
order
to
maintain
a
reasonable
angle
at
the
PTO,
it
is
recommended
to
use
a
larger
size
PTO
that
is
a
greater
capacity
PTO.
(please
refer
to
your
dealer
for
more
details).
For
snowblowers
of
100HP,
an
additional
gearbox
is
also
available
that
can
be
mounted
on
the
existing
snowblower
gearbox
,
which
increases
the
input
shaft
height,
reducing
the
angle
at
PTO
joints.
This
Gearbox
has
an
input
speed
of
1000RPM
w
h
ich
greatly
increases
PTO
capacity.
Non-Equal Angles at PTO Joints
Equal Angles At PTO Joints
To Avoid
Recommended
Angles at each end of PTO
A
popular
habit
is
to
change
snowblower
angle
in
order
to
obtain
a
better
scraping
effect.
This
practice
can
become
harmful
to
the
PTO
if
the
angle
is
unequal
at
each
end,
There
will
be
fan
speed
variation
(as
the
fan
speed
s
up
and
slow
down
twice
per
revolution)
as
well
as
a
drastic
increase
of
loading
on
the
cross
and
bearings.
To
avoid
it
is
recommended
to
keep
tractor
PTO
and
snowblower
input
shaft
a
lw
ays
parallel.
