Chapter 5 Backup
Notes:
Be careful with filenames when backing up or replicating folders and files:
•
If the names of folders or files contained in the same folder of the backup source (replication source) differ only in
use of uppercase and lowercase, Windows Storage Server will not recognize them as different names and the backup
operation will fail.
•
If a folder name or file name in the backup source (replication source) contains any of the following symbols or
character strings, the backup operation will fail.
Invalid symbols:
\ < > : " / | ? *
Invalid character strings:
CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM0, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT0, LPT1,
LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9
