Global User Manual

Are lifting sling assemblies provided by Brown & Sharpe?
Are lifting pins?

No. If a CMM is to be offloaded, or relocated, using a

lifting sling assembly, it is the customer’s responsibility to
provide the riggers and the sling assembly.

Lifting pins will be provided only with European

deliveries.

Should we discard the shipping brackets after the CMM has
been installed?

No. Retain the shipping brackets in case there is a need

to relocate the CMM in the future.

Should I perform the scheduled daily maintenance (every 8
hours) if I only intend to use the machine for 4 hours?

Yes. Everyday, or before every shift, you should perform

this scheduled daily inspection even if you do not plan on
operating the machine for 8 hours.

Are there any “special tools” required to perform mainte-
nance on the CMM?

No. Only common shop tools (English and Metric) are

required to perform standard maintenance on the CMM. No
“special tools” will be needed.
