4.3.2 - PROCESSOR REDUNDANCY
Only available for the Tessera SX40 , processor redundancy is designed as a backup system
should the prim ary processor fail to send a signal to the fixtures. If the prim ary processor stops
outputting video signal, the backup processor will detect the fault and re- associate fixtures.
Fixtures will lose video signal m om entarily and will autom atically resum e within 1-2 seconds.
Different types of failure can trigger failover including; power issues, closing project, loss of
input signal, processor failure, or if failover is activated by the user.
To set up processor redundancy:
1. Connect the prim ary and backup processor to the X1 and X2 ports of the XD Units.
2. Enable failover in the failover tab of both processors.
3. Select the role of each processor, either prim ary or backup.
4. Different criteria can be set for auto-failover behaviour:

If the prim ary processor fails for (x) seconds
The backup processor takes control if the prim ary processor’s Tessera output is
m issing for (x) seconds
l
If the prim ary video source is lost for (x) seconds
The backup processor takes control if the prim ary processor’s video feed is m issing
for (x) seconds
l
If both front panel buttons are pressed together
Failover can be triggered m anually by pushing both front panel buttons at the sam e
tim e
l
Always prefer prim ary if available , auto- failover back to the prim ary processor
whenever it becom es available
5. Video input cabling
o
Both processors m ay be fed from the sam e video source if required. HDMI/SDI thru
can be used but isn't recom m ended; an upstream splitter is preferable.
o
Each processor m ay be fed from a com pletely independent video source if required.
These m ay be different form ats (HDMI/SDI), resolutions, fram erates, etc. - there's no
requirem ent for any aspect of the sources to m atch.
