Top Ladder Extension Through the Eave Platform
Build Ladder Extension Rails (Kit 9-40969, All Models)
Install a pair of 54''
[1 372]
Ladder Extension Rails (Item 8) to the 5' Top Ladder Section
(Item 4B) at the Eave. On both the left and right sides of the top Ladder Section, add an
Extension Rail.
Insert the
upper
5/16 x 2 1/2'' Hex Head Bolt (Item 37) from inside the Ladder Section through
the Ladder Cap (Item 6) and Spacer Tube (Item 9). Put a Flange Nut (Item 32) on the outside
of the Extension Rail.
Add the same Hardware and Spacer Tube for the
lower
connection below the Ladder Rung.

Top ends of the Side Ladder
and
Extension Rail are finished with a
Ladder Cap
. Secure as
shown in
Detail A
below, adding a 16 ga. Washer (Item 38). Use a 5/16 x 1 1/2'' HHBS Bolt
(Item 33) on top, with a Weatherseal Washer (Item 34) and a Hex Nut (Item 35).
