Cleaning and care
8.5.1
Painted exterior surfaces
Use efficient cleaning detergents to clean the aircraft surface. Oil spots
on the aircraft surface (except the canopy!) may be cleaned with
gasoline.
The canopy may only be cleaned by washing it with a sufficient quantity
of lukewarm water and an adequate quantity of detergents. Use either a
soft, clean cloth sponge or deerskin. Then use suitable polishers to clean
the canopy.
CAUTION
Never clean the canopy during
“dry” conditions and never use gas or
chemical solvents!
8.5.2
Propeller
For propeller cleaning refer to the OPERATION, INSTALLATION and
MAINTENANCE MANUAL for MTV-34 propeller, 7.0 MAINTENANCE.
8.5.3
Engine
For engine cleaning refer to the Maintenance Manual (Line Maintenance)
for ROTAX Engine Type 912 Series, Chapter: 12-20-00, SCHEDULED
MAINTENANCE.
8.5.4
Interior surfaces, seats and carpets
Upholstery and covers may be removed from the cockpit, brushed and
eventually washed in lukewarm water with an adequate quantity of
detergents. Dry the upholstery thoroughly before insertion into the
cockpit.
