Lip seals
The outlets of the rotor shaft are sealed with lip seals. The wear on these differs
according to the conditions of use.
Wear is shown by oil loss or impairment of the final vacuum due to air ingress.
The lip seals (1) run on a protective shaft sleeve (2). When changing the protec-
tive shaft sleeve (2), the O-ring (3) must be replaced at the same time.

Removal of housing cover on the motor side:
Remove the motor unit,
Remove the half coupling of the rotor shaft,
Remove the housing cover,
Check the condition of the protective shaft sleeve (2), replace if necessary
or move the lip seal,
Remove the lip seal (1) and insert the new one. To do so, use a tool that
4nsures the verticality of the lip seal to the rotor axis. The main lip is
oriented to the inside of the body,
Insert the housing cover again.
Removal of the housing cover on the fan side
Remove the fan unit,
Remove the housing cover,
remaining procedure as described above.
