7. SMARTCONNECT WEB APPLICATION

The SmartConnect Controller is also compatible with BouMatic’s SmartLite detacher and 4-Input units. For information

on configuring those devices, refer to

literature 1027

 and

1028

.

 7.1 BROWSER REQUIREMENTS

To access the SmartConnect web application, use the latest version of one of the following web browsers:

•  PC: Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer

•  Mac: Safari, Chrome, or Firefox

•  iOS: Safari

•  Android: Chrome or Firefox

Note!

Google Chrome is the recommended web browser for the SmartConnect software. Compatibility with

other web browsers is not warranted.

7.2 ACCESS SMARTCONNECT OVER A LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN)

From a computer on the same local network as the network controller, it is possible to access the controller software

even if there is no outside internet connection. To connect from a local computer, type the controller’s IP address into

the browser. The IP address is visible on the controller’s display screen. If bonjour utility is installed on a computer in the

local network, the controller can be located by typing in the browser: boumatic-control.

7.3 ACCESS SMARTCONNECT OVER THE INTERNET

If the network controller is connected to the internet, use a web browser anywhere to access the network’s full control

and monitoring features.

Each active controller has its own URL, based on its serial number or creating a unique alias. If an alias has been created,

either format can be used. The URL is formulated as follows: https://[serial number or alias].bm-parlor.com.

All serial numbers start with the prefix bmc: bmcXXXX. The serial number is located with a visible sticker inside the

controller device. For example, if a controller’s serial number is

bmc0777

and its alias is cowhouse, a user can enter

either of these URLs to access the web application:

7.4 SECURE ACCESS TO THE WEB APPLICATION

When the system is initially set up, the web application does not require a login. Any user has full access to the site

without logging in. BouMatic recommends setting up an administrative user and password right away to secure the

parlor’s operational settings. For information on how to set up a user with the administrator role, refer to

literature 1066.
