4.5.3 PROFILES
The Pulse MD system has the ability to monitor and control different pulsation modes. Different pulsation modes can
be configured in “Pulsation Profiles.” Profiles can be used to apply different sets of pulsation parameters depending on
the situation. For example, each device can have a washing profile and a milking profile, as well as other custom profiles
for special situations.
Two Profiles have already been implemented by default. They are the Milk mode profile and the Wash mode profile.
When the Pulse MD units are in Wash mode, they automatically monitor (and run) the pulsator according to the Wash
mode profile. In Milk mode the Pulse MD units automatically monitor (and run) the pulsator according to the Milk mode
profile #1. Up to five different Milk mode profiles can be configured.
A properly configured 4-Input unit added to the same network can automatically switch Pulse MD Units between
parameters. For using the standard Wash and Milk mode profiles, at least one input per parlor has to be configured as
Milk/Wash mode signal. If, on top of that, two different Milk mode profiles are used, another input has to be configured
as Profile Switch. A manual, mechanical switch is required to select Milk mode profile #1 or Milk mode profile #2. For an
explanation of the 4-Input Unit configuration, refer to the 4-Input Installation manual,
Literature 1028
.
Although five different Milk mode profiles can be programmed, only two profiles can be selected with a 4-Input unit.
Other hardware is required when more than two Milk mode profiles are being used. This hardware is not yet available.
Future devices will further support this feature.
4.5.4 REMOTE ALARM LED
The Pulse MD system has the ability to connect a bicolor 24VDC remote alarm LED. The external LED is connected to the
pulsation output connector. See
Figure 24
. This means that an external LED can only be used if the Pulse MD is
NOT
controlling the pulsator, but only monitoring. The bicolor LED supports red and green colors. The red and green LED of
the remote alarm led are operating in line with the red and green LED in the Pulse MD enclosure.
