When a switch box (Air or Vacuum) is used for milking detection, the Pulse MD Unit needs to be opened
on its back side and selection switches need to be placed to the right, as shown in
Figure 16

For 24VDC milking signal, if the polarity is reversed with the shut off control valve, the detection will
not work.
From a Vacuum switch
, it is a custom configuration. The vacuum switch is connected to the Milking signal connector.
When a cow is milked, vacuum is detected by the vacuum switch and the milking signal is sent to the Pulse MD unit. In
order to read a vacuum switch the pins configuration inside the Pulse MD unit needs to be changed as shown in
Figure 16
.
From an Air switch
, it is a custom configuration. The air switch is connected to the Milking signal connector. When a
cow is milked, pressurized air is detected by the Air switch and the milking signal is sent to the Pulse MD unit. In order to
read an Air switch the pins configuration inside the Pulse MD unit needs to be changed as shown in
Figure 16
.
