■
Always direct the cable to the rear away from
the machine.
■
Apply the machine to the workpiece only when
switched on.
■
The cutting path must be free of obstacles both
above and below.
■
When sawing, the complete surface of the
base plate
6
should securely rest on the mate-
rial. When working with smaller or thin work-
pieces, use a stable base or a saw table (ac-
cessory).
■
When the cut is completed, switch off the ma-
chine and then pull the saw blade out of the cut
only after it has come to a standstill (danger of
kick-back).
■
Always switch off the machine and allow it to
come to a stop before putting it down.
■
After switching it off, do not apply lateral coun-
terpressure to reduce the speed of the saw
blade in order to bring it to a stop.
■
Use only sharp, flawless saw blades. Immedi-
ately replace cracked, bent or dull saw blades.
■
Never allow children to use the machine.
■
Bosch can only guarantee a flawless function-
ing of the machine if the original accessories
intended for it are used.
The machine is intended for making separating
cuts and cutouts in wood, plastic, metal, ceramic
plates and rubber while resting firmly on the
workpiece. It is suitable for straight and curved
cuts having miter angles of up to 45°. The saw
blade recommendations are to be observed.
■
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the power plug.
Inserting the Saw Blade
When inserting and changing the
saw blade
8
we recommend wear-
ing protective gloves.
Loosen the screws
15
of the base plate so far un-
til the guide roller of the saw blade can be moved
towards the rear.
Insert the screwdriver
11
from
above into stroke rod
9
and loosen
clamping screw
12
by making ap-
prox. 3 - 4 counterclockwise turns.
Insert the saw blade
8
in the stroke
rod crosswise to the cutting direc-
tion.
Rotate the saw blade toothing to
the cutting direction and allow to
engage by pulling lightly.
Finally secure the saw blade
8
by
tightening the clamping screw
12
.
Push the guide roller to the front against the back
of the saw blade and tighten screw
15
again.
Always use the correct voltage:
The voltage of
the power source must agree with the values on
the nameplate of the machine.
Switching On and Off
To
start
the unit, push the On /Off switch
1
and
keep it pushed.
Lock
the pushed On/Off switch
1
by pressing the
lock-on button
3
.
GST 54 E:
The machine runs with variable
speed between 0 and maximum
depending on the pressure applied
to the on/off switch
1
. Light pres-
sure on the on/off switch
1
results
in low rotational speed, thus allow-
ing drilling to begin in a smooth,
controlled manner. Speed in-
creases with additional pressure on
the switch.
To
switch
the unit
off
, release the On/Off
switch
1
or push and release it then.
