4.5 Sample Jumper Configuration
This is an example of the jumper settings when installing the IDE200
controller in a system already containing a serial and parallel port.
Configuration would be as follows: This example assumes you have
your system serial port configured as COM1 (03F8h/IRQ4) and the
parallel port as LPT1 (0378h/IRQ7). When the parallel ports are
installed, the system parallel port is initialized first and is seen as
LPT1. The IDE parallel port will then be initialized as LPT2. See
Note
on Printer Selection on page 18 for further information on how
parallel ports are initialized.
