Simplified V-Belt Tensioning Method

Step 1–

Determine the force required
to deflect one belt 1/64"
per inch (1/64th cm per
centimeter) of span length.

Step 2–

Measure the span length of
your drive. Compare this
deflection force with the
range given in

Table V

If it is

less

than the

minimum recommended
force, the belts should be
re-tensioned.

If it is

more

than the

maximum recommended
force, the drive is tighter
than it needs to be.
