Figure 6.10.1 - "Config" Screen
"Config" File allows the user to automatically assign an incoming stream to a virtual RF channel number. To create a
“Config” file, the following two requirements must be met and followed:
Requirement #1: The “Config” file must contain as many lines as the number of virtual RF channels that the EQAM-
420A is equipped for. For example,
(i) EQAM-420A equipped with one Quad-QAM RF module
Operating in SPTS Mode:“Config” file must contain 16 lines regardless of the actual number of active
incoming streams or outgoing QAM channels.
Operating in MPTS Mode:“Config” file must contain 4 lines regardless of the actual number of active
incoming streams or outgoing QAM channels.
(ii) EQAM-420A equipped with two Quad-QAM RF modules
Operating in SPTS Mode:“Config” file must contain 32 lines regardless of the actual number of active
incoming streams or outgoing QAM channels.
Operating in MPTS Mode:“Config” file must contain 8 lines regardless of the actual number of active
incoming streams or outgoing QAM channels.
Requirement #2: The syntax that MUST be followed to create the “Config” file is X,Y,Z,A,B where,
X = the protocol of the incoming stream. 0 indicates UDP; 1 indicates RTP.
Y = IP address of the incoming stream. Multicast addresses must be from 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255.
All other IP addresses will be considered Unicast by the EQAM-420A.
Z = the port number of the incoming stream.
A = the name of the incoming stream, not to exceed 10 alpha-numeric characters.
B = the virtual RF channel number at which the Tv must be tuned to display the incoming stream.
When utilizing the "Config" file feature, operator must also select an appropriate "Configuration
Mode" (see Section 6.7.1 for details).
