Check belt tension
Check the belt tension by pressing down on the
belt with your finger (Fig. 27).
If
the belt is too loose, it must be tensioned. To do
so, loosen the four bolts, which hold the engine plate
incl. the engine to the housing (not the bolts that
secure the engine. These are loosened, to adjust the
pulley alignment). Figures 28 and 29 show the bolts
to be loosened.
To adjust the
tension, loosen the lock nuts and twist the
adjusting screws (see Figure 30).
Depending on the rotation of
the bolt, the engine plate moves
upwards or downwards in the slot and
the belts are tensioned or loosened.
After a successful correct alignment,
screw the lock nuts back on again and
