5.3 Configuring the Mux
The use of a terminal enables you to:
• View the configuration of the T1 or E1 and fiber optic interfaces, whether the interfaces are in the normal
mode or in the looped mode.
• Set local loop connections in the local mux at both T1 or E1 and fiber optic interfaces.
• Set local loop connections in the remote mux at both T1 or E1 and fiber optic interfaces.
• Set the redundancy mode of the fiber optic interface.
• Set the T1 or E1 remote loopback connection.
• Reset the mux to the default configuration (removing loops and switching to the normal redundancy
mode).

To view the configuration of the T1 or E1 and fiber optic interfaces:
1. In the Main Fibermux menu, choose option 2, Configuration. The Configuration screen appears (see Figure
5-7).
