• Remove the laser module.
• Use a straight edge which is long
enough to reach from out side surface
of the saw blade beyond the laser
mount plate with kerf indicator edge.
• Loosen the adjustment screw on the
laser module mounting plate (
figure 11
).
• Place straight edge against outboard
edge of saw blade.
• Adjust kerf edge on mounting plate to
align with inside edge of straight edge.
• Tighten adjustment screw on mounting
plate.
• Re-install the laser module and verify
the laser edge aligns with the kerf
indicator edge.
LASER LINE
Your saw is equipped with a removable
laser which is turned on and off
separately from the saw. Laser is
compatible with QP1020L circular saw.
WARNING: Never aim the beam at a
workpiece with a reflective surface.
Bright shiny reflective sheet steel or
similar reflective surfaces are not
recommended for laser use. Reflective
surfaces could direct the beam back
toward the operator.
DANGER: LASER RADIATION.
AVOID DIRECT EYE EXPOSURE. Do
not stare into the laser light source.
Never aim light at another person or
object other than the workpiece.
Laser
light can damage your eyes.
WARNING: DO NOT use tinted
glasses to enhance the laser light.
Tinted glasses will reduce overall vision
for the application and interfere with the
normal operation of the tool.
INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
Ensure laser on/off switch is in the full off
position. Remove the battery
compartment cover by lifting tab end as
shown in
figure 12
. Insert two fresh AA
alkaline batteries making sure to match
(+) and (-) terminals correctly (molded
into battery compartment cover.)
Replace the battery compartment cover.
WARNING: Batteries can explode, or
leak, and can cause injury or fire.
To
reduce this risk:
• Carefully follow all instructions and
warnings on the battery label and package.
• Do not short battery terminals.
• Do not charge batteries.
• Remove dead battery immediately and
dispose of per local codes.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
• Keep batteries out of reach of children.
• Remove battery if the device will not be
used for several months.
Transporting batteries can possibly cause
fires if the battery terminals inadvertently
come in contact with conductive materials
such as keys, coins, hand tools and the
like. The US Department of
Transportation Hazardous Material
Regulations (HMR) actually prohibit
transporting batteries in commerce or on
airplanes (i.e. packed in suitcases and
carryon luggage) UNLESS they are
properly protected from short circuits. So
when transporting individual batteries,
make sure that the battery terminals are
protected and well insulated from
materials that could contact them and
cause a short circuit.
LASER SWITCH
To turn the laser on, push forward on the
laser on/off switch to activate the laser
line as shown in
figure 13
.
TO USE LASER LINE ON SAW
• Mark the line that you intend to cut on
the workpiece.
• Adjust the depth and angle of cut as
required.
• Switch the laser to the “ON” position
and project the laser beam as shown in
figure 14
.
