Fault summary

Cause

Biral impeller flashed red

(alarm, pump not turning)

Motor blocked

Detection without Remote Adapter

8. Switch off the pump at the main switch and turn it

on again. 3 seconds after power ON, 3 attempts

are made at unblocking. The fault relay switches on

and the Biral impeller flashes red after 20 seconds,

otherwise it is another fault

What to do

9. Remove pump head (see ModulA BA motor)

10. Remove any foreign bodies that are present.

11. Check impeller and if the impeller is defec tive,

change motor.

12. If the impeller is working, install pump head again.

(See ModulA BA Motor)

Dry running

Detection without Remote Adapter

13. Set constant speed stage 1 and let it run for

at least a minute.

13.1. If the impeller turns red,

it is another fault

13.2. If the impeller remains green, go to the next

point.

14. Set constant speed stage 6 and leave to run

for at least one minute.

14.1. If a fault is displayed within the first

minute,

it is another fault

14.2. If the impeller changes to red after a minute,

it is clearly a

dry running alarm

There are various possible causes for a dry

running alarm:

– Air in the system (actual dry running – equipment is

not filled or ventilated)

– Higher pressure on the suction side than the

pressure side

– Fault alarm due to an incorrect measurement

(sensor blocked, sensor hole in the casing blocked,

sensor cover incorrectly mounted, sensor damaged)

What to do

15. Check whether the equipment is filled with water.

16. Check whether there are air bubbles in the system

(noises).

17. Press any button to acknowledge the fault.

18. Set stage 6 constant speed function check and

leave it to run for a minute. If possible, against the

open and closed valve.

19. If the impeller changes to red again after a minute,

there is still a

dry running alarm

20.

Provided the equipment is filed and correctly

ventilated

the dry running alarm may be a

fault

alarm

, triggered by an incorrect measurement.

21. Change the sensor or contact Biral SERVICE.

22. Change the ModulA electronics or ask Biral

SERVICE for support. Check whether the pump
