On multi-axis systems, the user must specify which
axis will perform the “Move Absolute”.

The position is taken relative to the zero position (origin) of the chosen axis. Positive (negative)
positions are below (above) the zero position for a vertical stage, right (left) of the zero position
for a horizontal stage and clockwise (counterclockwise) of the zero position for a rotation stage.

The velocity at which the motion will be executed must also be specified. Refer to the
specifications of your Mach-
1™
model to learn of the displacement and velocity ranges allowed.
In Mach-1 Motion, the speed is always specified in absolute value terms.
5.2.4
Move Relative
This function is used to make relative stage displacements (i.e. move the stage at a given
amplitude).

The amplitude is taken relative to the actual position of the chosen axis. A positive amplitude will
move the vertical stage down (compression), the horizontal stage, right, and the rotation stage,
clockwise. Enter a negative amplitude for opposite directions.

Normal Indentation (for model v500css only with Software Add-on)
This function precisely detects the height and orientation of the surface at the XY position and
records the load (for multiaxial load cell only) while simultaneously moving the three linear stages
at different speeds in order to move a spherical indenter with a predefined displacement profile
along a virtual axis normal to the surface of the sample.
