2.7.3 Frost protection
For models with automatic
CHIPS
control (Auto type)
The electronic control features integrated frost protection.
This works in two stages:
1. If the temperature of the discharged air falls to below 5 ºC
(41 ºF) and the temperature of the intake air falls below
8 ºC (46 ºF):
- the valve of the integral water-side control will open
fully;
- the output on the unit gives a signal for the central
heating installation provided that function

2. If the temperature of the discharged air falls to below 2 ºC
(36 ºF) and the temperature of the intake falls below
8 ºC (46 ºF):
- the control panel will temporarily display error mes-
sage E6;
- the fans will be switched off, but the valve of the water-
side control will stay open.
Caution:

The frost protection reduces the risk of freezing but
does not guarantee complete protection.
Take the following precautions if you install the unit
in a room where frost may occur:
- Ensure constant circulation of the water at the right
temperature;
- Add up to 50% glycol to the water when the unit is
not in operation during the wintertime;
- Or bleed the system and the unit.
For ventilation models with basic control (type NOZ2
V-Basic)
The unit is fitted with a frost thermostat which is activated if
the temperature of the discharged air falls to below 6 ºC(43
ºF). This can be integrated into its own control.
