4.1.4.2  Side view Camera 

 
The NightSHADE offers the special option that the camera can be mounted on the side, too. This feature 
enables the system to take images of plants from the side or to measure the sample dishes in an upright 
standing position. The upright standing position is used when the sample changer is assembled into the 
NightSHADE.  
 
The power supply and the USB connection for the camera is located at the rear side of the instrument. 
Please use the supplied special cables to connect the camera to the instrument. 

 

 

 

To assemble the camera at the side proceed as follows: 
 

 

Turn off the NightSHADE. 

 

Open the top cover and remove the USB cable and the power supply cable from the camera. 

 

Remove the blind plug from the side view camera holder. To remove the cover, turn it slightly. 

 

Unscrew the bolts (3) 

 

Dismantle the camera by turning it counterclockwise until it can be removed 

 

Place the camera in the same way at the camera holder

. Make sure that the “Top” labeled sticker 

is facing the top at its final position. 

 

Plug the power supply cable to the rear panel and then to the camera. 

 

Plug the USB control cable to the rear panel and then to the camera. 

 

Put the blind plug to the top position of the camera to avoid incoming light. 

 

Switch on the NightSHADE.
