Tip

If there is any doubt regarding the actual position of the shutter: Check the
dose rate at the shield using a dose rate measuring device. If the shield is

closed, the dose rate in the direction of the beam may not be significantly
higher than at other parts of the shield.

If any defects are identified during visual inspection, inform the radiation
safety officer who will initiate the measures required for repairing the
defects.


