Step 2. Move the top shield up and down to work it loose from the two front
standoffs.

Original Firmware IC Removal
Step 1. Insert the small flathead screwdriver under the lip of either end of the
firmware IC. The diagram shows the approximate location of the chip to be
removed, but not necessarily its orientation.
Step 2. Slightly lift the one end of the chip by gently prying with the screwdriver.
Move to the other end of the chip and repeat. Continue this process until the chip
comes loose from the socket.
