Removal of Chassis

Figure 8-1

b.

Next, remove the two nuts holding the battery pack cover plate on.

c.

Remove the old pack and discard it.

d.

Slide the new pack into the tube, so the locating pin at the bottom of the tube aligns with the
third (non-symmetric) hole in the battery pack.

e.

Replace the battery pack cover plate. Again, the locating pin on the underside of the cover
plate must be lined up with the third hole in the battery pack and the pin on the electronics
section bulkhead.

f.

Replace the nuts and washers of the pack interconnect rods and tighten.

g.

Slide the BATTERY/ELECTRONICS PACKAGE back on to the END CAP/ RELEASE
MECHANISM ASSEMBLY. Be sure that no wires are being pinched and that no
connections are strained. Feed the connector(s) up through the large hole in the release
mechanism mounting plate.

h.

Attach the chassis ground and tighten the nuts holding the package on. Be sure to use the split
lock washers.

i.

Plug in the battery pack connector as shown in Figure 8-2 (two connectors for the double battery
version). Check for secure and complete seating.
