Grinding with the Flex Shaft
Replacing Fiber Wheels and Grinding wheels
REPLACING FIBER WHEEL
a) Loose the nut with a hexagonal key or an adjustable key.
b) Remove the nut and the washer.
c) Remove the fiber wheel.
d) To install a new wheel, follow the above instructions but inverse.
1. Secure the flex shaft to the wheel cover (6). Align and insert the
shaft. It can only go in one way.
2. Tighten the flex shaft connector nut (8) over the wheel cover.
3. The flex shaft has a small collet in one of its side; loose it to the
following manner:
- Insert the metallic blocker as seen in the image. Turn the shaft
and settle the blocker until the collet is bocked
- With the provided hexagonal key loose the collet.
4. Insert the tip of the tool into the collet.
5. Tight the collet in the same way that loose but turning to reverse.
6. Grasp the flex shaft handle with one hand, and turn the grinder
on with the other hand.
CAUTION: Always wear safety glasses when grinding.
7. When finishing, turn the grinder off and wait for it to stop before
setting down the flex shaft.
