OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Version 06/12
Ꮨ
• Do not use the soldering station in spaces or in adverse ambient conditions, where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explo-
sion!
• Do not fasten any items to the soldering station; never cover the soldering station;
there is a risk of
fi
re!
• Never use the soldering rod to heat up liquids.
• Never work on electrical components that are powered up. Always switch off the
power beforehand.
Caution! Touching or soldering at condensers (or similar components) or leads/
cables connected to them, may result in a lethal electric shock! Condensers can be
under power for hours even after switching off the power supply!
• Depending on the workpiece of the soldering method, the workpiece must be
fi
xed
in a suitable mounting device. This leaves both your hands free for the soldering
process.
• Keep your workstation clean.
• Only work with suf
fi
cient lighting at your workstation.
• Ensure proper ventilation during soldering. Solder or solder
fl
ux can be harmful.
• Wash your hands thoroughly after working with brazing solder containing tin.
Do not put brazing solder into your mouth, do not eat or drink during soldering.
• Wear suitable protective clothing and protective glasses when soldering. Liquid
blazing solder, etc. may cause serious burns or harm your eyes!
• Never use soldering
fl
ux, acid or similar aids when soldering. Such materials lead
to bad soldering joints and they can also damage the tip of the soldering rod. Pref-
erably, use a tubular solder with
fl
ux core.
• Do not touch any other area of the soldering rod than the handle when working.
Risk of burns!
• Soldering must be done on non-combustible surfaces. Protect other materials
nearby from damage through heat.
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical stress.
•
Protect all cables from heat, sharp edges or other damage.
• Do not pull the power plug from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect
the product immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. After this, ar-
range for an expert to check the product.
A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work at all or well (leaking smoke or fuming smell, audible
cracking noises, discolouration of the product or the adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• The accident prevention regulations of the association of compensation insurers
must be followed when using all electrical facilities and equipment in commercial
locations!
