7.5.1

Description of the LPS

Description

To ignite the lamp, the voltage on the output pins of the

lamp power supply

is increased to 140V. This voltage will trigger the Start

Pulse Generator (SPG), which will trigger a high-tension peak to ignite the lamp. When the lamp is on, the voltage on the output
pins of the LPS comes to its normal level of 25V.

The LFR sensor measures the lamp

fl

icker and provides a signal for the

light feedback

board, which is part of the LPS assembly.

This signal is used to reduce the lamp

fl

icker.

In case of failure the LPS assembly is replaced as a unit.
