CHECKS
After the burner has been ignited, the safety devices should be checked (photoresistances, locking-device,
thermostat).
1) The photoresistance is the flame-control device and should therefore operate if the flame goes out during
operation (carry out this check at least a minute after ignition).
2) The burner should get locked and stay like this, if the flame does not appear in the normal way during the
ignition phase, within the time set on the control equipment. Locking entails immediate fuel flow stoppage and
consequently, the burner stops (the lock pilot lamp lights up). To check efficiency of the photoresistance and
the locking-operation, proceed as follows:
a) ignite the burner:
b) At least a minute after ignition, remove the photoresistance, by withdrawing it from its seat, and simulate a
no-flame condition by blacking-out the photoresistance (block the window in the photoresistance support
with your hand or a rag). The burner flame must now go out.
c) As you continue blacking-out the photoresistance, the burner ignites and the photoresistance does not “see”
the light; the equipment locks within the time set on the programme. The equipment can only be unlocked
manually, by pushing the appropriate button (unlocking). The locking efficiency test should be carried out at
least twice.
3) Check the efficiency of all the burner control thermostats and/or pressure switches, verifying that their intervention
stops operation.
