11.2.2 Peak Value Detection
The target objects may show locally differing temperatures. Due to the distance-dependent field of view of the sensor,
moving objects would result in fluctuations in the output signal. Peak value detection can be used to hold a local
maximum of the output signal for a settable number of successive measurements.
Example: When there is scaling on steel peak detection makes it possible to display the temperature of the steel while
suppressing scaled and therefore cooler locations.
